Haiku film review #012 – Star Wars: The Phantom Menace

Anakin can’t act.
The pacing was terrible.
The pod race was fine.

As my march towards a trip of a lifetime to Japan grows ever closer, I’ve continued to write haiku reviews of some of my favourite films.

Here’s another one…

If there’s something weird
Like a marshmallow giant
Who you gonna call?

Bowie’s bizarre turn.
As The Snazzy Childcatcher.
Wow, those pants are tight.

“Squeal like a piggy”
A phrase my ten-year-old self.
Should never have heard.

Poor Michael is sad.
He just wants a breakfast meal.
And to kill people.

They all drive one way.
They chat for a little while.
Then drive back again.

Burke made a bad call.
Aliens started killing.
She put her in charge?

Outer-space blunder.
Isolated botanist
Makes Mars potatoes.

In preparation for my upcoming trip to Japan, I will be putting out haiku film reviews every Friday.

For those unaware, a haiku is a form of Japanese poetry with a 17-syllable structure set up as 5-7-5.

My second attempt is for Room.

A room with a view.
Of a solitary leaf.
Is not very fun.
